Eggs — symbol of Jesus’ tomb, representing His Resurrection. Meat — symbol of Jesus as The Lamb of God. Bread — reminds us that Jesus is The Bread of Life. Salt — reminds us that we are The Salt of the Earth. Oil and vinegar — symbol of the Passion of Christ and the bitter of Passover. Wine — symbol of the Blood of the Lord. A white candle — symbol of the Light of the World. Lastly, the basket is covered with white linen, symbolizing the shroud in which Christ’s body was wrapped.
