Catholic Family Summit 2026

August 8 @ 1:00 pm

Saturday, Aug 8, 1:00 PM – 7:30 PM. Location : Christ Redeemer Parish

“Rooted in the Word”

Every family is called to be a Domestic Church where faith is lived and passed on; where children first experience a faith community of love, prayer, and virtue. We believe that Scripture is not just “helpful reading” but the inspired and living Word of God that is essential to the Christian life. How can we, as families, be better rooted in God’s Word?

You and your family are invited to the Catholic Family Summit! Join with other families from around the Archdiocese to discover on the beauty and power of God’s Word through activities for all ages. The day will also include a Eucharistic Procession, anticipated Sunday Mass, and dinner.

Family Prayer with Scripture

Scripture isn’t just for church — it’s a living conversation God wants to have with your family every single day. Fr. Rich Conlin will introduce the RAP Method, a simple form of lectio divina built on three steps: Read, Ask, and Pray. This accessible practice invites families to slow down, open God’s Word, and listen for what He is personally saying to them. Come ready to discover a powerful tool your family can use together starting today.

Pondering the Parables (for ages 3-6 with parent participation)

Young children have such a capacity to wonder. How can parents help to encourage that curiosity? Through this session, children will be invited to ponder the parables through catechist-led presentations, while parents can watch and observe their child’s receptivity and wonder as God speaks to them through His Word.

Living Scriptures (for children and youth ages 7 to 18)

The Bible is an epic narrative full of powerful characters and memorable tales. Through this session, children and youth will be led by the Franciscan Sisters of the Eucharist to experience God’s Word through live performance.
